Want to be more productive, but no clue where to start?! I’ve got you covered! Implement these 5 tips and I can guarantee you it will boost your productivity!

1. Start working with systems

A very easy way to boost your productivity is by implementing systems. Create systems for every chore in the house and write. them. down!

So for example; laundry. Create a system that works for your family and that anyone can do in your household. For example, every Monday you will wash your whites. Write down which detergent is used, how much, which program etc. You don’t have to think about what to wash next week, because you know exactly what will get done on which day. It will make your life so much easier!

Why you should write this down? It will help you stay on track whenever you have a few days in which you cannot do it. Are you on a work trip for 3 days? No problem, you husband will know exactly what to do because you wrote it down for him.

2. Set 10-minute timers throughout your day

10 minutes before you need to head out the door to pick up the kids? Set a timer and grab everything that is lying around in your house. You will come home to a nice and decluttered space!

10 minutes left before your workout class? Set a timer and get as many dishes in the dishwasher as possible. It will be so nice to have a clear sink!

Have 10 minutes left before your meal comes out of the oven? Clean the kitchen and get rid of the dishes before you start having dinner.

Well, you get the picture. You can get a lot done in 10 minutes and you will feel so much better when you’re done! Try it!

You’ll be surprised to know how much can be done in 10 minutes.

3. Have boundaries in place

Don’t overdo it! Yes you can always find more to do, but that will not make you more productive. Productivity is about doing things well instead of doing more! So feel free to say no to things that do not serve you or your family. And focus on the things that are important to you.

You can say yes to every girls night out, but what if you would focus that time on working on your side-hustle and earn some extras? When that side-hustle grows you will have more money AND time to do what you love!

4. Create a master to-do list

I am a huge fan of master to-do lists. Just write down everything that needs to get done that week. Whenever you have some time left in your day, you can just pick something from the list!

Have 5 minutes left? Pick a smaller task from the list like cleaning the kitchen table or loading the dishwasher. Have half an hour to fill? Pick a bigger task.

If you do not create a master to-do list, those 5 extra minutes will likely be spent scrolling through your phone. Now, there is nothing wrong with scrolling, but if it happens 10 times a day, that’s almost an hour wasted on scrolling! Think about that for a sec. A lot can be achieved in life if we only have an hour extra each day.

5. Create a schedule

Whatever your life looks like; you need a schedule! Everyone performs better with a good schedule.

Homeschooling? Schedule it in!
Cleaning the house? Schedule it in!
Going to the gym? Schedule it in!
Date night? Schedule it in!
Me-time? Schedule it in!

If you do not plan to have a date-night, I am pretty sure it will not happen. Life is so busy, you will find out your days will be filled without even realising it.

There are a ton of different schedules and systems out there, but I will forever and always praise the block schedule system. You can find out more in this blog post. It’s just the best schedule out there and it works for everyone!
